A Bit About Sara
Hi! I'm Sara. I am the founder of Greenhouse Psychotherapy. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in DC, Maryland and Virginia specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, & adjustment issues.
I work with adolescent and adult clients of all genders, with a special interest in treating neurodivergent college students and young adults. I am a relational, collaborative provider and, for those who like an acronym, my go-to approaches include IFS, DBT, ACT and EMDR.

I appreciate when clients come as they are. There is no issue too big or too small for therapy. I'm not afraid of clients who have a complex mental health history, and I am equally excited to work with those who feel like their issues aren't "big enough" to justify counseling.
When working with me clients can expect a combination of compassionate challenging, emotional attunement, a healthy dose of laughter, and a bit of irreverence.
In my free time, I specialize in petting strangers' dogs and buying way too many plants.

Sara received her BA in Psychology from Elon University and earned her Master's in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to starting her own private practice, she worked at two eating disorder treatment facilities where she received extensive training. In addition to her work with the ED population, Sara also sees clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder and general life "stuff". Sara completed comprehensive training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) through an EMDRIA-approved program, and frequently integrates EMDR in her work with clients.
